| Lake Ontario Waterkeeper (LOW) is looking for a volunteer who can assist with our brief services program. This is the program that handles questions from the public about pollution or other environmental concerns and collects information about new government policies and permits. Your responsibilities in this role include: (i) File and maintain filing system for LOWʼs brief services. (ii) Review documents on file and as they come in so as to become educated on issues LOW often deals with. (iii) Document common questions and issues to help create publications and online content for the purposes of public education and empowerment. (iv) Compiling reports and indexing past services. Within this position you will be able to hone your information management skills while learning about the past concerns of the communities in and around Lake Ontario. Additional information: If you have experience with information management and research and/or general office work then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! It would be an asset if you have worked with confidential and sensitive material before. Other qualities that you should possess include organizational skills, time management skills, attention to details, and both verbal and written communication skills. Time commitment for this position is about one or two hours a week for about a month with the possibility of extension.
