Volunteer Position: Contaminants Researcher

Lake Ontario Waterkeeper (LOW) is looking for a volunteer with a background in chemistry to help us create an information database on common environmental contaminants. This information will help us when commenting on various applications to provincial or federal governments requesting permission to discharge contaminants into the environment.

Your responsibilities in this role include:
(i) Research and compile information about environmental contaminants into our memo template.
(ii) Log completed memos in an electronic database file.

In this volunteer role you will be able to utilize your expertise with environmental contaminants for a good cause. If you have a background in science with at least one year of advanced university-level chemistry and are excellent at meeting deadlines then this is the position for you!

Additional Information:
The time commitment for this position will be about one or two hours per week for one month with the possibility of extension. The Contaminants Researcher will have great written communication skills and know how to properly reference research materials and have access to research materials.
