Lake Ontario Waterkeeper (LOW) is a registered charity (#86262 2750 RR0001) working to restore swimmability, drinkability and fishability to Lake Ontario. LOW fulfills its mission by educating the public about Lake Ontario and the Great Lakes Basin and by conducting research and public education activities on behalf of the watershed.

Our goal is to restore and protect Lake Ontario’s natural resources, as well as contribute to its aesthetic, social recreational and economic values.

Title:

Lake Ontario Waterkeeper Pilot

Description/Purpose:
Lake Ontario Waterkeeper is seeking a licensed pilot operating around Lake Ontario to assist us with obtaining aerial photos and observations of the lake on an ad hoc basis. We are looking to get photos and observations before and after large storms and through the changing seasons so as to maintain an up-to-date photo database.

Stipulations:
LOW understands that maintaining a license to pilot an aircraft requires pilots to log a certain number of hours every year. As a charity, it is difficult for us to charter a plane but we would like to explore the option to take advantage of pilots looking to log more hours. Though we will be able to discuss the logistics and other stipulations on a pilot to pilot basis we are willing to pay the fuel costs for the flight we participate in.

Contact:
Interested pilots are invited to contact us by phone at 416-861-1237, by e-mail at apply [at] waterkeeper.ca, or in person at our office located at 600 Bay Street, Suite 410, Toronto, ON M5G 1M6.
