| Lake Ontario Waterkeeper (LOW) is looking for a volunteer to do science or policy-based research. Your responsibilities in this role include: (i) Conduct scientific-, legal- or policy-based research as directed. (ii) Compile research in an intuitive and easily accessible way for our staff and the public using proper citation methods. (iii) Utilize both online and offline tools including online journals, government websites, university and city libraries, etc. to complete research. (iv) Report regularly to staff supervisor about progress In this volunteer role you will be able to build on the skills you already have by assisting LOW expand our knowledge and information base. This is an exciting opportunity to use your research skills to contribute to the fight for swimmable, drinkable, fishable water in Lake Ontario. Additional information: Experience or education in research; specifically within the field of science or policy, is an asset. Volunteers must have well-developed written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize, manage time, organize information and meet deadlines. In this volunteer opportunity you may choose to work from our office located in Toronto, or work from home. Time commitment will vary depending on the context of any given project.
