The city has announced the list of residents selected for the waterfront access and protection advisory committee, which will work towards creating a vision for the future development of Burlington’s waterfront. The successful candidates are:

• Les Armstrong – Ward 1

• Ken Harris – Ward 1

• Mohammad Alizadeh – Ward 2

• Sarah Banks – Ward 2

• Michael O’Sullivan – Ward 4

• Nicholas Leblovic – Ward 4

• Grahame Richards – Ward 5

• Craig Lewis – Ward 5

• Donna Mae Ankrett – Ward 6

• Brian Jones – Ward 6

Members of the waterfront committee also include city council representatives Mayor Cam Jackson and councillors Peter Thoem and Rick Goldring.

City staff will begin a process to fill two vacancies on the committee, seeking citizen representation from Ward 3. The new committee is scheduled to have its first meeting in May.

Committee members were selected through an interview process by a selection team. The selection team made their recommendations based on the committee’s needs, knowledge of the role, relevant skills, experience, dedication and commitment to the committee. The waterfront access and protection advisory committee reports to council.
