| MNR publishes “State of the Aggregate Resource in Ontario Study reports and Aggregate Resource Advisory Committee recommendations” | July 9th, 2010  | | This notice is for your information. The Environmental Bill of Rights does not require this notice to be placed on the Environmental Registry; however, section 6 of the Act does allow the Environmental Registry to be used to share information about the environment with the public. The Ministry of Natural Resources is posting this notice to advise the public of the release of six reports prepared by sector experts that updates knowledge on aggregate resources in the province. This was an information gathering process. The ministry is also posting “consensus recommendations” from the Aggregate Resource Advisory Committee to the Minister of Natural Resources on the management of aggregate resources. The recommendations are not binding on the Ministry of Natural Resources and do not constitute a policy proposal or decision. They are being made available for information purposes. The recommendations have been accepted by the Minister of Natural Resources, and a review of the above noted reports will be conducted within the context of current policy. Any future government response will include public consultation and appropriate postings on the Environmental Registry. Full details via Environmental Registry. |
