Geese control options examined – Community Press – Ontario, CA
March 3rd, 2011

The Tweed recreation committee is considering options to help control the geese population in Memorial Park.

Committee member Justin Bray told council at its meeting last week there are “some ideas on the table” to keep geese off the beach and out of the swimming area.

“We’re looking at a new swimming buoy that would also act as a deterrent,” he said, adding they’re considering a removable floating fence that could be easily taken out of the water to allow for weed harvesting.

Council received a report outlining several options for geese removal and relocation.
