NORTHUMBERLAND – Most beaches in Northumberland County are safe for swimming, according to the most recent results of water samples taken by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit.

Beaches open for swimming in the Port Hope/ Cobourg area include Bewdley Beach, Harwood Beach, Port Hope Beach East, Port Hope Beach West, Sandy Bay Park, Victoria Beach (Cobourg) and Wicklow Beach.

Beaches that are open in the Brighton area are Cedardale and Little Lake, according to the local health unit’s report, and in the Campbellford area, swimming areas that are open include Crowe Bay Fun Park, Hastings North, Hastings South and Seymour Conservation Area.

Only Lion’s Park in Campbellford is posted as closed.
