Frankford beach unsafe for swimming: health unit
Trentonian
August 3rd, 2011

The beach in the Frankford Tourist Park is currently unsafe for swimming, according to the Hastings and Prince Edward Counties Health Unit.

The health unit announced this morning that swimming in the Frankford Tourist Park beach, along with the Tweed Park, Stoco Lake and Kingsford Conservation Area in Deseronto beaches, may cause a risk to swimmers’ health.

The health unit monitors beach water quality at designated public beaches with the collection and analyses of water samples.

Samples are analyzed at a public health laboratory for the presence of E. coli bacteria. When the bacteria exceeds the provincial standard, the beach is considered unsafe for swimming and warning signs are posted at the beach.

For additional beach information call the Beach Line at 613-966-5513 Ext: 652 or visit www.yourhealthunit.ca and click news/beach reports from the top menu bar.
