Blue Water Beach: Come to Blue Water Beach and enjoy some of the most beautiful sunsets in North America and nearly 1000 feet of beachfront. Nearby you will find the historic Village of Westfield and the Seaway Trail for bicyclists. Hanover Beach: Town of Hanover Beach is a sandy public swimming beach. Picnic pavilions, charcoal grills, a playground, restrooms, and parking are all free to the public and handicapped accessible. Nearby , the Cattaraugus Creek empties into Lake Erie. The Creek’s name comes from a native word meaning “foul-smelling river bank” because natural gas oozes from the river mud in some areas upstream. Main Street Beach: Welcome to the westernmost city in New York State. Main Beach is right downtown and offers a great view of Lake Erie. Main Beach is within walking distance of a number of shops and restaurants, as well as a marina. Point Gratiot East: Point Gratiot is named for the Chief Engineer in the War of 1812. There are a number of towns and historical landmarks in the Great Lakes area bearing Gratiot’s name. There are two beaches here, one to the east of the point and one to the west. Point Gratiot park is a perfect place to go and enjoy the sunshine. Visitors can also golf, swim, fish, and paddle. There are a number of hotels to stay at near the beach, as well as a campground where visitors can pitch a tent or park their RV. There is an active lighthouse here, keeping watch over Lake Erie. Sunset Bay Beach Club: Sunset Bay Beach Club is located on five acres of groomed, sandy beaches. Bring your friends and enjoy the nearby arcade, ice cream stand, and clothing boutique during the day. At night, look for concerts and cocktails. There are organized events here every week in the summer, ranging from concerts to yoga. Wright Park East: Wright Park Beach is a scenic sandy beach that doesn’t get too crowded during the summer months. It is also a fantastic place for fishing enthusiasts to visit.
