Our snazzy new Swim Guide lets you locate beaches near you, figure out which ones are safe for swimming (the green ones!), and plan your next trip to the beach. It’s free, and it’s fun, and it’s available now online, iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and Android devices.

Bennett Beach: Bennett Beach is a large sandy beach with picnic tables and public restrooms. The nearby park boasts a variety of wildlife including wild flowers, rabbits, deer, waterfowl, shorebirds, gulls, terns, herons, and ducks. Big Sister Creek flows into Lake Erie right near the beach.

Evangola State Park Beach: Evangola State Park Beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The Evangola Eatery is conveniently located right next to the beach. Picnic tables overlook the lake, and some are accessible to people with limited mobility. Restrooms are located nearby.

Evans Park Beach: Evans Park Beach, located in Town Park, is only open to Evans residents. The park offers picnic tables, eight shelters, and two pavilions. Public restrooms are available in the park. Nearby you will find a modern playground, horseshoe pits, a baseball diamond, a volleyball court, two tennis courts, and two basketball courts.

Hamburg Beach: Hamburg Beach is a sandy beach with a swimming area that is patrolled by certified lifeguards. Amenities include a snack bar, changing rooms, and restrooms. This beach is open to all Town of Hamburg residents; park permit stickers can be purchased at the Hamburg Fitness Center.

Pioneer Camp: Pioneer Camp and Retreat has offered rental and retreat facilities for the Christian community since the 1940s. The beach here is for guests and staff of the camp.

Wendt Beach: Wendt Beach is a great place for anglers to visit. Water life in this area includes pan fish, catfish, walleyes, northern pike, bass, perch, and muskies. This beach is also rich in bird life, consisting mainly of songbirds, waterfowl, and shorebirds.

Wilson-Tuscarora State Park: Visit this state park for its beach, as well as its 395 acres of mature woods, open meadows and marshland. The park is partially sheltered from Lake Ontario by “The Island”. The swimming area itself boasts a beautiful view of Lake Ontario and is a narrow strip of smooth pebble beach. The region is named for Reuben Wilson, an early 19th-century settler.

Woodlawn Beach: Woodlawn Beach is a beautiful one-mile long stretch of sandy beach with fantastic panoramic views and picturesque sunsets on Lake Erie. This beach offers picnic tables, beach volleyball, nature trails, and a playground.
