August 11th, 2011

Our snazzy new Swim Guide lets you locate beaches near you, figure out which ones are safe for swimming (the green ones!), and plan your next trip to the beach. It’s free, and it’s fun, and it’s available now online, iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch and Android devices.

Association Island: Association Island Beach is located on Association Island, a 65-acre island at the norther tip of Stony Point, with a peninsula extending into the eastern end of Lake Ontario. The island is now a privately owned RV park and resort.

Bedford Creek: Bedford Creek Marina & Campground Beach is a great place for fishing and boating. The campground offers Wi-Fi, a golf course, biking, hot showers, and many fun activities. In addition, the campground is handicap accessible and pet friendly.

Chaumont Village Beach: Welcome to Chaumont Bay, the largest freshwater bay on earth! The fishing in this area is regarded as some of the best on the Great Lakes. Nature lovers will enjoy the nearby Chaumont Barrens, one of the last alvar grasslands on earth. This prairie-like landscape has very little top soil. If you look closely, you can find ancient marine fossils in the rocks.

Henderson Harbor Yacht Club Beach: Henderson Harbor Yacht Club Beach is located in beautiful Henderson Harbor at the Eastern end of Lake Ontario. The Club hosts variety of different events for members, including dinners, cruises, sail boat racing, sailing and swimming lessons, and charity events.

Willows on the Lake: This beach is part of a private RV camp and resort, The Willows on the Lake. Westcott Beach State Park is about a mile away.
