Comment opportunity: Gilead Power applies for wind facility approval in Prince Edward County

Comment Period: 60 days: submissions may be made between November 30, 2011 and January 29, 2012.

This posting is for a proposed Renewable Energy Approval for Gilead Power, proposed to be located in Prince Edward County. This is a Class 4 Wind Facility with a total expected generation capacity of 22.5 megawatts (MW).

The proposed facility is considered to be a Class 4 Wind Facility under Ontario Regulation 359/09 (O. Reg.359/09) Renewable Energy Approvals under Part V.0.1 of the Environmental Protection Act. Applications for Renewable Energy Approvals are required to be submitted in accordance with O.Reg.359/09 for consideration for approval.

This comment period is for the public to review the proposal and provide comments and input directly to the ministry.

Gilead Power Corporation has also applied for a permit under clause 17(2)(c) of the Endangered Species Act, 2007 (ESA) .
