Submissions made via the Environmental Registry will not count as ARA objections.

Lafarge Canada Inc. have applied for a Category 2 Class “A” licence (Quarry Below Water) to remove aggregate from a quarry of 7.0 hectares in size. This application is for an extension to an established quarry. The annual tonnage condition applied for is 600,000 tonnes.

Other Information:

Lafarge Canada Inc. currently operates the site under the authority of Licences # 3087 and 3072 under the Aggregate Resources Act (ARA). Approximately 38 hectares are currently licenced by Lafarge. The existing Lafarge Canada Inc. quarries have common boundaries on the east and west with licensed quarries operated by other aggregate companies.

Site plan information is available to view at the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Kingston Area Office. Making an appointment to view the information is recommended to ensure aggregate staff will be available to provide information and answer questions.

Comments received through the EBR should not be construed as an objection under the Aggregate Resources Act in accordance with section 4.0 – Notification and Consultation Standards of the Provincial Standards 1.0 under the ARA. To be considered as a formal objector, individuals need to contact the MNR person specified on this notice to determine how to submit an objection.
