Last month, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper celebrated 13 years of working towards swimmable, drinkable, fishable water.
A big part of our more recent success is due to an app called Swim Guide.
Swim Guide was born from one simple question: Is it safe to swim in Lake Ontario?
We had no idea trying to answer that question would take us on such an incredible journey.
Since 2011, we’ve connected with several water leaders across Canada, the US, and Mexico. With the help of over 50 affiliates, Swim Guide is now monitoring over 7000 beaches today. And it’s still growing.
Before the holiday, Swim Guide officially launched in New Zealand!
We are so proud to add independent electricity supplier, Pulse Energy NZ to Swim Guide’s list of partners. Pulse is a fantastic company committed to transparency and their customers.
It goes without saying, we’re quite excited to add over 700 of New Zealand’s stunning beaches to Swim Guide.
But what does this growth mean?
It means people around the world want swimmable waterways.
Beaches are cherished places. People want to know where it’s safe to jump in. They want to be informed.
There’s a growing demand for real-time, easy and accessible information on water quality. Swim Guide provides exactly that – and at no cost.
It’s my pleasure to thank Pulse Energy for bringing Swim Guide to New Zealand. Friends, welcome to the family.
