Friends, fans, and family of the old Bamboo Club on Queen Street remember fondly those sun-soaked afternoons and the sultry summer nights - the music, the island-spiced groove, the tastes, the times, and the spontaneous vibe of the most innovative and outrageous nightspot to rock the Queen scene for 20 unbelievable years.
Now, the vision and spirit have moved on.
On March 20, Richard O'Brien, the creative force and founding father behind the BamBoo, will open Bambu by the Lake, an innovative eco-lounge, nightclub, and restaurant.
"A new century demands a new way of thinking," Richard says. "I've really been inspired by the philosophy that you can make the planet more beautiful and still be successful by being ecologically responsible."
Lake Ontario Waterkeeper, which is housed on its second floor, gratefully acknowledges the support of Richard and all the Bambu staff. By helping to build strong communities and supporting our fight for clean water, the Bambu is being fashioned in the true Waterkeeper spirit.
Please join us in celebrating the launch of the Toronto Harbourfront community's newest member: party starts March 20.
