Health unit warns of possible blue-green algae in Lower Buckhorn Lake, eastern Sturgeon Lake

The Peterborough County-City Health Unit is advising residents who draw water from the Island Drive area of Lower Buckhorn Lake, in addition to Crab Lake, to find an alternate water source following the discovery of a large quantity of algae.The health unit said the algae resembles blue-green algae and is currently being tested by the Ministry of the Environment to confirm... Renovation of Trent University hydro generating station to cost $20M
