Kingston’s old sewage woes; Canada’s new sewage rules

We are just two months into the year 2010 and the City of Kingston has dumped the equivalent of 58 Olympic-sized swimming pools of sewage into Lake Ontario. The City has bypassed 29,526 m 3 from pumping stations (that's about 11 pools, if you're keeping track) and 118,747 m 3 from combined sewer outfalls (47 pools). Fire in Hay Bay marsh

Firefighters from Napanee and Dorland stations of Greater Napanee were called out just after noon today to a marsh fire on Hay Bay. It was contained in the area bordered by Cty. Rd. 9, Benn's Point Road, and Galt Street. Acting fire chief Ian Shetler said on the scene that the cause was undetermined, and they would begin investigation later in the afternoon. Smoke was... Shickluna Dam proposed for Twelve Mile Creek may impede paddling and harm endangered eels

St. Catharines Hydro Generation Inc. has submitted a proposal for the construction of a hydroelectric dam across Twelve Mile Creek near downtown St. Catharines, Ontario.
