Our Living Waters started as a big idea and has evolved into a platform for coalescing the water movement by driving collaboration, strengthening networks, and uniting voices to achieve the big, hairy, audacious goal (BHAG) at the heart of it all: All waters in Canada in good health by 2025.
Yet this movement will not just happen. There is a need to turn good ideas, new relationships, and growing momentum into meaningful action, and that is the focus of the Our Living Waters forum. Here are the two key outcomes of the forum:
- Participants have a full understanding of the Our Living Waters platform.
- Water leaders (NGOs and funders) co-develop tangible action plans that build on existing efforts and identify next steps towards realizing shared outcomes within the OLW platform.
Given these goals, the forum has been designed to provide space for leaders and funders to craft tangible action plans that represent the steps we need to take collectively in the next 1-2 years to move the needle.
To help kick-off the 2-day event, Waterkeeper's Vice-President, Krystyn Tully will co-present with the Canadian Freshwater Alliance's, Lindsay Telfer during Tuesday's Building The Movement strategic theme.
