The impact of water in everyday life has never been more appreciated.
In this fascinating meditation on water, internationally published limnologist of 20 years, Nina Munteanu, draws inspiration from some of the world’s greatest thinkers, artists and scientists, and a lifetime dedicated to water, into a spectacular gift for hydrophilics.
Nina's book launch takes place at the Islington Golf Club where, in the summer of 2013 most of the course was damaged beyond simple repair, as the small, inconspicuous Mimico Creek flooded the valley. This is the backdrop of the afternoon.
On Sunday, June 12 in Etobicoke, the Water Is... book launch will start with a tour of Mimico Creek followed by a celebration of water, its stewardship and conservation.
In addition to green leaders, media, and other influencers of social progress, Waterkeeper's Water Literacy Coordinator, Claire Lawson will also give a special presentation on the importance of finding our individual connections with water, introducing the Watermark Project.
