Thank you so much for supporting the inaugural Waterkeeper Gala presented by RBC. Together we raised $290,000 to create a clean water future for nine-million people. When Lake Ontario is in trouble, we must act. And Lake Ontario is in trouble. Every day, bacteria pollution washes ashore on Lake Ontario’s beaches. Boil water advisories are put in place in rural communities. Fish advisories limit what we can safely consume in our own watershed. You have shown important leadership and care for your community by supporting a swimmable, drinkable, fishable world for everyone. Thank you. Because of your support, Lake Ontario Waterkeeper will create digital technology like our Swim Guide to help protect the 300,000 people who risk contracting a waterborne illnesses after swimming at dirty beaches. Celebrate 10 years with Lake Ontario Waterkeeper on February 7, 2012 TORONTO, February 2, 2012 — Lake Ontario Waterkeeper celebrates its 10th anniversary with an inaugural sold-out gala and art auction, presented by RBC. Celebrities and leaders from the worlds of art, sports, music, business, entertainment and politics will gather to celebrate swimmable, drinkable, fishable water.
