Daniel’s training is in the school of nineteenth century academies. His interests are in using that formal training, with its emphasis on understanding the human figure, to explore contemporary issues and states of mind. Often the narrative that appear between the subjects, create psychological components that become paramount.

Since graduating from the New York Academy of Art M.F.A program in 1995 he has been featured in numerous shows across Canada, as well as shows in London, England, Philadelphia, New York and Santa Fe. Daniel has also exhibited at numerous art fairs including London, Chicago, San Francisco, Madrid and Toronto. Recently he was included in the National Portrait Gallery of London’s publication “500 Portraits”.
