Waterkeeper's weekend in Kingston began with a live taping of Living at the Barricades at the Grad Club.
The show was an opportunity to connect directly with listeners and bring the community together around the theme of a Swimable, Drinkable, Fishable Kingston.
Gord Downie joined Mark Mattson and Krystyn Tully as co-host, bringing unique perspective from a passionate environmental advocate with a strong connection to Lake Ontario. Guest interviews included Waterkeeper boat captain Colin Mosier and local fishing guide Craig Vance, who came to the Grad Club with bait-in-hand and insights into life on the water. Air emissions expert Dr. Henry Cole called in from Washington D.C. to discuss his crucial research about the effects of shoreline emissions on Lake Ontario. An afternoon at the Grad Club wouldn't be the same without talented local music and Chris Brown and John Abrams weaved songs throughout the 1-hour taping.
Waterkeeper would like to thank the engaged audience at the Grad Club, Virginia Clark, CFRC 101.9fm, Gord Downie, Colin Mosier, Craig Vance, Dr. Henry Cole, Chris Brown, and John Abrams for contributing to Living at the Barricades. Stay tuned for other live radio events in communities across Lake Ontario!
